1. Staples Reports In-­line Q2 EPS

Staples (SPLS ) reported Q2 EPS of $0.12, in­-line with the analyst estimate of $0.12.

Revenue for the quarter came in at $4.9 billion, versus the consensus estimate of $4.96 billion.

Outlook

Staples sees Q3 EPS of $0.33-$0.36, with the Street at $0.36.

2. Lowe’s Misses Q2 EPS

Lowe’s (LOW ) reported Q2 EPS of $1.20, $0.04 worse than the analyst estimate of $1.24.

Revenue

Revenue for the quarter came in at $17.3 billion, versus the consensus estimate of $17.3 billion. Comparable sales increased 4.3%.
