The Semiconductor Stocks: Value or Value Trap?

As the Fed shifted monetary policy, investors shifted their allocations. Growth is no longer on the menu. And that has meant the broader technology sector has spent much of the last year trending lower. The question now is whether the drop has pushed tech stocks into bargain territory. While you can make the argument that some “all revenue, no profit” cloud stocks aren’t bargains, some may be.

In this case, semiconductor names may fit the bill.

The longer-term picture for the backbone of technology remains great and dividend yields/profits have never been better. But there is plenty of near-term risk. For investors focusing on the long haul, the rewards may outweigh the current malaise.
