The office REIT is part of his diversified strategy in REITs where he has stakes in Equity Residential (EQR ) and AvalonBay Communities (AVB ), which are equity REITs, followed by Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT ), which is a retail REIT.

Boston Properties has given a staggering 159% total shareholder return in the past 10 years. They also average a dividend yield of 5% over the last 10 years. They own 46.6 million square feet of space and have an additional 4.7 million square feet under development, as they plan to add to their existing capacity.
