  • FBR Capital Raises Price Target on Expedia Inc (EXPE)

FBR Capital reported on Wednesday that it has boosted its price target on travel company Expedia Inc (EXPE) . Analyst Jake Fuller has raised its price target on "Outperform-rated" Expedia from $65 to $70. This new price target suggests a 12% upside from the stock's current price of $62.33. Fuller noted that this PT lift was due to the rising value of metasearch, a tool that sends searches to several other search engines. The analyst noted that Tripadvisor's (TRIP) transition to this search increased revenue by 11x. He also said that other travel companies including Qunar Cayman Islands and Trivago have seen a significant rise in revenue after using this tool. "The increase in our price target is tied to a step-up in the assumed Trivago multiple from 2.4x revenue to 6x, which still appears conservative in our view." Fuller commented. Expedia shares were mostly flat during pre-market trading Wednesday. The stock is up 1.45% YTD.
