  • Bad Loan News at BOK Financial (BOKF)

Oklahoma-based BOK Financial (BOKF) is announcing a more than four-fold increase in provisions for loan losses for the second quarter this morning. BOK Financial will take a charge of $2.5 million to $3.0 million related to the sale of some residential mortgage loans. Shares of BOKF are down nearly 20% from highs made earlier this year. This recent price action is not quite as bad as many competing banks, but the whole sector is basically not investment worthy. BOK's dividend yield is below 2%, which is also a big negative in our assessment for holding these shares. BOK Financial (BOKF) is not recommended at this time and currently holds a Dividend.com rating of 2.9 out of 5 stars.
