    Before the opening bell on Friday morning, ratings giant Moody's Corporation (MCO) reported its fourth quarter earnings, posting higher revenue and earnings than last year's Q4. MCO's Earnings in Brief
    • Moody's reported fourth quarter revenues of $779.2 million, a 3% increase from last year's Q4 revenue of $754.2 million.
    • Net earnings for the quarter came in at $206.7 million, or 94 cents per diluted share, up from $160.1 million, 0r 70 cents per diluted share reported for 2012's Q4.
    • On an adjusted basis, non-GAAP EPS came in at 85 cents, which still marks an increase of 21% over last year's adjusted Q4 EPS.
    • Moody's was able to beat analysts' estimates of 76 cents EPS on revenues of $743.87 million.
    • Looking ahead to the full year, Moody's sees EPS in the range of $3.90 to $4.00. This is in-line with analysts' estimates.
    CEO Commentary Raymond McDaniel, president and CEO of Moody’s had the following to say about the company's earnings: "Moody's delivered strong financial performance throughout 2013, including revenue growth in all lines of business, margin expansion and 18% reported EPS growth. While we anticipate variable market conditions in 2014, we nonetheless expect revenue growth across all areas of our business, as well as growth in earnings per share to $3.90 to $4.00.” MCO's Dividend Moody's recently raised its dividend from 25 cents per quarter to 28 cents. The company now pays an annualized dividend of $1.12. MCO's next dividend is payable on March 10 and goes ex-dividend on February 18. Stock Performance Moody's was up $2.89, or 3.76%, in pre-market trading. YTD, the company's stock is down 0.71%.
