    After the closing bell on Thursday, Nike Inc (NKE) reported its Q2 results, with revenues increasing 8% and EPS increasing 4% from the same quarter last year. NKE Earnings in Brief -Nike reported Q2 revenue of $6.43 billion, up from last year's Q2 revenue of $5.96 billion. -The company's net income from continuing operations came in at $537 million, up from $521 million last year, and net income was $537 million, up from $384 million last year. -NKE's diluted earnings per common share were 59 cents for the most recent quarter, up 4% from last year's diluted EPS figure of 57 cents. -The company managed to beat analysts' EPS estimates of 58 cents, but fell slightly below the revenue estimate of $6.44 billion. -Nike's worldwide futures orders were up 12% this quarter. CEO Commentary Mark Parker,Nike's president and CEO, had the following comments about the company's quarterly report: “Our strong second quarter results show why NIKE leads the industry. Our powerful portfolio fuels growth across our categories and geographies. Because we never stop innovating, we enhance our ability to serve the athlete, inspire consumers and elevate the marketplace. We will continue to seize the best opportunities to drive sustainable, profitable growth for our shareholders.” Dividend Recently Raised Nike most recently declared a dividend raise on November 21, boosting its quarterly payout from 21 cents to 24 cents. The stock's ex-dividend date was on December 12, and the dividend is payable to stockholders on January 6, 2014. Investors shouldn't expect another dividend change until sometime in the latter part of 2014.     After the bell on Thursday, Nike Inc. (NKE) announced that it was raising its quarterly dividend 14.3% to 24 cents. Nike previously had a quarterly dividend of 21 cents. The company's new payout will amount to 96 cents annually. The dividend is payable on January 6, 2014 to all shareholders on record as of December 16, 2013.   • Nike Releases Its 2014 Revenue Target (NKE)

    Nike, Inc. (NKE) announced on Wednesday its 2017 goal, which is to deliver $36 billion in revenue. To meet its growth objectives by fiscal 2017, Nike points to its key growth areas in China, women's sports, and e-commerce. Though China is currently experiencing a slowdown, while sales in the U.S. pick up steam (especially in its basketball segment), the company remains quite focused on its position in the country, believing it will be one of the company's biggest growth areas. By 2015, Nike expects revenues to grow 19% to $30 billion; and by 2017, it expects to reach its $36 billion target. Nike shares inched 0.86% higher during Wednesday's session. Year-to-date, the stock is up 35.57%.
