    Before the opening bell on Thursday, Colgate-Palmolive Company (CL)  reported its fourth quarter earnings, which beat analysts' expectations and pushed the company's stock price higher in early morning trading. CL's Earnings in Brief
    • Colgate-Palmolive reported fourth quarter net sales of $4.361 billion, up from last year's Q4 sales of $4.286 billion, and coming in slightly below analysts' estimates of $4.4 billion. 
    • Including one-time charges, net income came in at $564 million, or 60 cents per diluted share, which was down from last year's Q4 net income of $598 million, or 63 cents per share.
    • Not including one-time charges, CL's net income came in at $697 million, or 75 cents per share, which was 1 cents higher than analysts' EPS estimates.
    • For the full year, CL reported EPS of $2.38 on revenues of $17.42 billion.
    CEO Commentary CL's chairman, president and CEO, Ian Cook, had the following to say about the company's earnings report: “We are delighted to have ended the year with another quarter of strong growth on both the top and bottom lines. For the eleventh consecutive quarter, operating profit, net income and diluted earnings per share all increased versus the year ago period. The strong 6.5% organic sales growth was led by the emerging markets, where organic sales grew a robust 10.5%. Our strong top-line momentum should continue into 2014, fueled by new products across all categories and in all geographies." CL's Dividend Colgate-Palmolive last announced a raise to it its dividend in March 2013 for its May 15 dividend payment. The company boosted its quarterly payout from 31 cents to 34 cents at that time. The company declared a dividend payment on January 9, which was paid on January 22. Stock Performance CL's stock price was up 60 cents, or nearly 1%, in pre-market trading. YTD, the company's stock is down 4.21%.
