If you’ve checked your portfolio lately, you may have noticed some decent-sized declines.

Thanks to a multitude of reasons, the stock market has started to hit a rough patch. From rising rates to a potential trade war, things are getting a bit dicey out there. And these issues have caused equities to spend much of the first quarter dropping like a stone. The question is whether they’ll keep dropping in the months ahead.

According to investment bank State Street, the metrics propping up the market still seem good.

Based on various fundamental indicators, the market is on sound footing. This foundation should keep equities climbing and not dipping further into the abyss. If this is true, the current dip may just be that, a big-time buying opportunity.
