We often hear a lot about investors not having enough for retirement.

For whatever reason, many investors simply haven’t saved enough money by the time they hit their golden years. This so-called ‘savings-crisis’ – especially when you consider longevity and vanishing of guaranteed income options – is going to hit many retirees right in the standard of living pretty hard.

But hearing about the savings crisis might actually be causing those with plenty of savings to think differently about their portfolios.

According to investment manager BlackRock, many investors in retirement are afraid of spending their nest eggs. For many, getting over this hump could actually bring some better living conditions.
