The Railroads Could Chug Right Along Through 2016 & Beyond

Sometimes the best portfolio opportunities are the ones that are a tad bit sleepy, and few industries are as unsexy and boring as railroads. Shuttling freight, from cars and coal, to hair dryers and lumber, across the country just doesn’t capture the imagination like an Apple (AAPL ) iPhone or hot new solar panels. Unless you’re three years old, most people just don’t even consider them for their portfolios.
