After the shortened trading week – thanks to Thanksgiving – this week comes in hot and heavy. Unlike the days leading up to the holiday where volume was light, trading should resume in a swift manner—especially considering how much Fed-related news is coming down the pike. We’ll see speeches from seven different Fed officials this week, including two speeches from chairwomen Janet Yellen. We’ll also see the release of the Fed’s Beige Book.
Other data released will be Fed-related and influencing, such as manufacturing numbers and key payroll/jobs reports.
On the earnings front will be mostly retailers. While these reports won’t include the holiday season, early Black Friday sales numbers will be out and any guidance they provide should help to gauge how successful the holiday season will be.
