Gabelli Global Gold Natural Resources (GGN) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. GGN aims to provide a level of current income through dividends to its investors. It invests primarily in equity securities of gold and natural resources companies. The company is based in Rye, NY. Some of the top holdings of GGN, as of March 31, 2014, include Randgold Resources, Goldcorp, and Royal Gold. GGN’s performance is largely tied to the underlying securities, and thus it is largely affected by the price of gold, which can add volatility to its earnings. GGN has been paying dividends since 2005. GGN’s dividends have remained stable most years, but were cut in 2012 and 2013. GGN pays its dividends monthly.
