We all know the old adage courtesy of Benjamin Franklin: “The only things certain are death and taxes.” Technically he was talking about the Constitution and its permanency, but the saying has stuck throughout history. I recently found out just how certain taxes are when I sat down to file my return for the year. An unexpectedly higher bill awaited me when the numbers were finally tallied up.
