Earnings: Macy's, Domino's Pizza, Ecolab, More (M, DPZ, ECL, More)

Before the opening bell on Tuesday, a number of big name, dividend paying companies announced their quarterly earnings. Below, we look at these earnings reports and break down the important points for investors.

Macy's Reports Lower Profits; Weak Outlook

Macy’s (M ) reported fourth quarter net income of $793 million, or $2.26 per share, down from $811 million, or $2.16 per share, last year. Analysts expected to see EPS of $2.41.

Revenue increased 1.8% to $9.36 billion from $9.20 billion. On average, analysts expected to see $9.40 billion in revenue..

For FY2015, the company expects to see EPS between $4.70 and $4.80, which would fall below analysts’ view of $4.84.

W.P. Carey Misses EPS Estimates

W.P. Carey (WPC ) reported fourth EPS of 30 cents, down from last year’s EPS of 33 cents. Analysts expected to see EPS of 38 cents. AFFO for the quarter was $125.6 million, or $1.19 per share.

Revenue came in at $248.3 million from $139 million last year. Analysts expected to see revenue of $168.35 million.

Looking ahead, the company expects to see FY2015 AFFO between $4.76 and $5.02 per share.

Domino's Pizza Reports Higher Profits, but Misses Estimates

Domino’s Pizza (DPZ ) posted fourth quarter earnings of $48 million, or 85 cents per share, up from $44.7 million, or 78 cents per share, last year. Excluding special items, earnings were 91 cents per share, above last year’s adjusted EPS of 78 cents, but below analysts’ view of 93 cents.

Revenue increased to $642.95 million from $566.55 million. Analysts expected to see $615.19 million in revenue.

Cracker Barrel Posts Higher Q2 Results

Cracker Barrel (CBRL ) reported second quarter net income of $47.2 million, or $1.96 per share, up from $37.1 million, or $1.55 per share, last year. Adjusted EPS came in at $1.93 – above analysts’ view of $1.62.

Revenue came in at $755.97 million, up from $698.49 million. Analysts expected to see revenue of $734.11 million.

Looking ahead to FY2015, the company expects to see EPS between $6.40 and $6.50 and revenue between $2.80 billion and $2.85 billion. Analysts expect to see EPS of $6.12 and $2.82 billion in revenue.

Ecolab Matches EPS Estimates

Ecolab (ECL ) reported fourth quarter earnings of $335.5 million, or $1.10 per share, up from $287.1 million, or 93 cents per share, last year. Adjusted earnings were $1.20 per share – matching analysts’ estimates.

Revenue was $3.68 billion, up from $3.56 billion. Analysts expected to see $3.72 billion in revenue.

Looking forward to FY2015, EPS is expected to be between $4.50 and $4.70. Analysts expect to see EPS of $4.69.
