VirnetX Accuses Cisco of Patent Infringement (VHC,CSCO)
VirnetX Holding Corp(VHC



) accused technology company, Cisco Systems, Inc.(CSCO



) of infringing on patents related to a virtual private online network.
VHC is now accusing Cisco of infringing patents over secure private communications technology. CSCO began using an VirnetX invention to improve their security in 2005. The company made $1 billion in revenue related to the technology.
VirnetX is now disputing a patent for a virtual private network, in which a website can securely interact with customers. VCH won a $368.2 million lawsuit against Apple(AAPL



) in November involving the same technology.
Cisco denies infringing on the patents, and does not believe that VCH is entitled to any damages.
Cisco shares were up 44 cents, or 2.15% during Tuesday morning trading. The stock has increased 8% in the past year.
