After the closing bell on Wednesday, The Walt Disney Company (DIS) announced that it is raising its annual dividend to 86 cents.

DIS previously paid an annual dividend of 75 cents, and the boost to 85 cents is an increase of 14.7%. Prior to this move, the company most recently raised its dividend 15 cents, from 60 cents to 75 cents, in December 2012. The company’s dividend is payable on January 16, 2014, to all shareholders on record as of December 16, 2013. The stock goes ex-dividend on December 12.

DIS stocks were up a fraction at market close on Wednesday, but were heading higher in after-hours trading. YTD, the company’s stock is up 36.79%.
