Unisource Energy (UNS) - News

  • Jefferies Downgrades Unisource Energy on Regulatory Concerns (UNS)

Jefferies announced on Thursday that it is downgrading its rating on the Arizona-based utility company, Unisource Energy (UNS) , from "Buy" to "Hold."Paul Fremont, an analyst with the firm, noted, "“We are downgrading UNS Energy to Hold from Buy based on regulatory uncertainty introduced by the ACC review of retail competition. If the ACC adopts retail competition, the future earnings of Arizona regulated electric companies would depend on commodity prices for gas and power, the length of the transition period and the regulatory treatment of stranded cost. Investors should remain on the sideline until these issues are resolved." Jefferies currently has a hold rating on the stock along with a lowered price target of $49.50 from $57 previously. Unisource shares took part in Thursday's massive sell-off, shedding a steep 4.66% on the day. The stock is up almost 3% YTD. The Bottom Line Shares of Unisource Energy (UNS) have a 4.00% yield, based on Thursday's closing price of $43.55. Unisource Energy (UNS) is not recommended at this time, holding a Dividend.com DARS™ Rating of 3.4 out of 5 stars.
