Power Integrations Boosts Q2 Revenue Outlook; Shares Rise (POWI)Jul 15, 2013Integrated-circuits manufacturer Power Integrations Inc (POWI) raised its second quarter revenue outlook on Monday, causing its shares to spike during pre-market trading. The company now expects to post between $87 and $88 million in revenues in the second quarter. The San Jose, California-based company had previously projected to see $79 to $85 million in revenues, while Wall Street analysts are expecting POWI to post revenue of $82.47 million for the latest period. Additionally, the company boosted its adjusted gross margin for the quarter to a range of 53% and 53.5%. This is up from its prior projection between 52% and 53%. Balu Balakrishnan, president and CEO of Power Integrations, commented, "We saw stronger-than-expected demand in the second quarter and now expect to report a sequential revenue increase of 13-14 percent for the quarter, with significant growth in each of our four primary end-market categories." Power Integrations shares were up $4.08, or 9.17%, during pre-market trading on Monday. The stock is up 32.34% year-to-date.
