This company provides modular enterprise-class data storage subsystems and hard disk drive capital equipment for original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and hard disk drive manufacturers and their component suppliers in North America, Asia, and Europe. It operates in two segments, Networked Storage Solutions and Storage Infrastructure. The Networked Storage Solutions segment designs, develops, and manufactures storage subsystems that comprise modules, such as storage controllers and disk drive enclosures; and application platforms, which enable OEM's applications to be run in the system without the need for an external server. It also provides RAID technology to protect users from failure of disk drives. The Storage Infrastructure segment provides process, inspection, and test equipment utilized in disk drive assembly and integration, disk drive substrate and media manufacturing, and disk drive head fabrication applications. Its products comprise disk drive production test and qualification, media write, cleaning and contamination control, optical inspection, head tester, head automation, and automation and factory control technologies. The company was founded in 1966 and is headquartered in Havant, the United Kingdom.
