CPI Corp- (CPY)-engages in the manufacture and sale of professional portrait photography of babies, children, adults, and family groups. It owns and operates the Sears Portrait Studios under license agreements with Sears, Roebuck and Co., which provides its customers with various choices through its packages and plans. As of February 3, 2007, the company operated 1,041 studios in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. CPI also operates two Web sites: searsphotos.com that serves as a vehicle to archive, share portraits via email, and order additional portraits and products; and searsportrait.com, which serves as a marketing and information resource conveying details about its products and services available in its studios. The company was founded in 1942 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
