Company Profile
Walmart (WMT)-This is the largest retailer in the world. As of January 31, 2007, it operated 1,075 discount stores; 2,256 super-centers; 579 Sam's Clubs; and 112 Neighborhood Markets in the United States. Sales should hit $376 billion this year. The annual dividend now stands at 95¢ per share, up from 14¢ in 1997. The company was founded in 1945 and is based in Bentonville, Arkansas.
