  • Snap-on's Q2 Profit and Revenue Top Expectations (SNA)

    Tools and equipment maker Snap-on Incorporated (SNA) on Thursday posted second quarter profit and revenue results that beat Wall Street's view. The Kenosha, WI-based company reported second quarter net income of $88.4 million, or $1.50 per share, compared with $76.4 million, or $1.30 per share, in the year-earlier period. Revenue rose 3.6% from last year to $764.1 million. On average, Wall Street analysts expected a smaller profit of $1.46 per share, on lower revenue of $758 million. CEO Nick Pinchuk commented, "...we achieved higher year-over-year sales and increased operating income in spite of ongoing headwinds in specific parts of our business, and we continued to progress in those strategic areas of importance that we’ve identified as being decisive to our future." Snap-on shares were unchanged in premarket trading Thursday. The stock has risen 18% year-to-date.
