IVR Company Profile

Exchange: NYSE
Sector: Financial

Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc (IVR) is a real estate investment trust (REIT) primarily focused on investing in, financing and managing residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities and mortgage loans. The company's target assets consist of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) for which United States government organizations guarantee payment of principal and interest. The REIT is based out of Atlanta, Georgia and was founded in 2008. IVR’s business is largely affected by conditions in the real estate markets. As well, IVR operates in a highly competitive market for desirable investment opportunities and may not be able to secure every desired investment. As a REIT, IVR is mandated to pay out the large majority of its earnings as a dividend, and thus has a very high dividend yield and payout ratio. IVR has been paying a dividend since 2009, and has been steadily decreasing its dividend since 2010. IVR pays its dividend quarterly.
