Aviva plc (AV) - this company provides a portfolio of life and pensions, general insurance, health insurance, and asset management products and services primarily in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific. The company provides various long-term insurance and savings business products and services comprising pensions, such as personal and group pensions, stakeholder pensions, and income drawdown; annuities; protection products, including term assurance, mortgage life insurance, and flexible whole life and critical illness cover; bonds and savings consisting of single premium investment bonds, regular premium savings plans, mortgage endowment products, and funding agreements; and investment products, such as unit trusts, individual savings accounts, and open ended investment companies. It also offers general insurance and health products and services comprising personal lines and commercial lines insurance products, such as motor, household, travel, creditor, commercial liability, and commercial property coverage; and health insurance products, including private health insurance, income protection, and personal accident insurance, as well as a range of corporate healthcare products. In addition, the company manages investments, including equities, fixed income, property, hedge fund, and socially responsible investments on behalf of institutional, pension fund, and retail clients; and sells retail ISAs, unit trusts, and structured products under the Aviva Investors and the Royal Bank of Scotland Group brands names. Further, it distributes various banking products and services, such as mortgage loans and current accounts. The company was formerly known as CGNU plc and changed its name to Aviva plc in July 2002. Aviva plc is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.
