Goldman Sachs Downgrades Evercore Partners to "Neutral" (EVR)Oct 7, 2013Analysts at Goldman Sachs downgraded investment management firm Evercore Partners Inc. (EVR) early on Monday because the stock's upside is limited. The analysts downgraded EVR from "Buy" to "Neutral" and see shares reaching $52. This price target suggests a 7% upside to the stock's Friday closing price of $48.49. "We continue to view EVR as one of the best growth stories in the Capital Markets space, but given (1) the stock’s significant outperformance (EVR is up 64% YTD versus XLF up 20% YTD), (2) premium valuation vs. history, and (3) relatively lower estimated EPS upside to mid-cycle M&A volumes versus LAZ and GHL, we think the stock's absolute upside from here is limited," Goldman Sachs analyst Alexander Blostein stated. Goldman Sachs also noted that it expects Evercore to see an EPS of $2.06, $2.90, and $3.20 in 2013, 2014, and 2015, respectively. The consensus view among other analysts on Wall Street is that Evercore will earn $2.14, $2.71, and $3.01 per share in 2013, 2014, and 2015, respectively. Evercore Partners shares were inactive during pre-market trading on Monday. The stock is up 60.62% year-to-date.Expand to read the full story
