    On Monday, financial services company CNO Financial Group Inc (CNO) reported higher second quarter earnings, which came in above analysts' estimates. The Carmel, IN-based company reported second quarter earnings of $77.1 million, or 34 cents per share, up from $65.7 million, or 24 cents per share, a year ago. On average, analysts expected to see earnings of 26 cents per share. Revenue rose to $1.08 billion from $1.06 billion in the second quarter of 2012. Analysts expected to see earnings of $1.07 billion. CEO Ed Bonach noted, "the vitality and stability of CNO's business model continues to produce solid results, with sales momentum increasing, and consistent growth in core business premium income and profitability." CNO Financial shares were up 24 cents, or 1.68% during pre-market trading Monday. The stock is up 53% YTD.
