  • Lear Corporation Adjusted Earnings Rise; Raises Sales Outlook (LEA)

    On Friday, automotive interior system manufacturer Lear Corporation (LEA) reported an increase in its second quarter adjusted earning, beating estimates. . The Southfield, MI-based company reported second quarter earnings of $137 million, or $1.60 per share, down from $145 million, or $1.45 per share in the second quarter of 2012. Excluding special items, earnings rose to $1.62 from $1.35 last year. Analysts expected to see earnings of $1.37 per share. Revenue for the quarter rose to $4.1 billion, from $3.7 billion a year ago. Analysts estimated revenue of $3.91 billion for the quarter. Looking ahead, the company now sees net sales for FY2013 to be $15.8 billion. This estimate is up from the company's prior estimate of sales between $15 billion and $15.5 billion. Analysts expect to see sales of $15.57 billion. Core operating earnings are expected to be between $750 million and $800 million. Lear Corporation shares were up $1.04, or 1.58%, during Friday morning trading. The stock is up 43% YTD.
