This company manufactures vehicle components; and provides electrical and electronic, powertrain, safety, and thermal technology solutions for the automotive and commercial vehicle markets worldwide. The company operates through four segments: Electrical/Electronic Architecture, Powertrain Systems, Electronics and Safety, and Thermal Systems. The Electrical/Electronic Architecture segment offers design of the vehicle’s electrical architecture, including connectors, wiring assemblies and harnesses, electrical centers, and hybrid high voltage and safety distribution systems. The Powertrain Systems segment provides systems integration of end-to-end gasoline and diesel engine management systems, including fuel handling, fuel injection, combustion, electronic controls, test and validation capabilities, diesel and automotive aftermarket, and original equipment services. The Electronics and Safety segment offers critical components, systems, and software for passenger safety, security, comfort, and infotainment, as well as vehicle operation comprising body controls, reception systems, infotainment and connectivity systems, hybrid vehicle power electronics, passive and active safety electronics, displays, and mechatronics. The Thermal Systems segment provides powertrain cooling and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, such as compressors, systems and controls, and heat exchangers for the vehicle markets. Delphi Automotive PLC sells its products and services to the automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), as well as to the aftermarket for replacement parts, including the aftermarket operations of its OEM customers, and to other distributors and retailers. Delphi Automotive PLC is based in Gillingham, the United Kingdom.

  • Delphi Automotive Beats EPS Estimates; Raises Guidance (DLPH)

    Delphi Automotive PLC (DLPH) announced its second quarter earnings on Wednesday morning, beating analysts' EPS estimates while posting gains in earnings over last year's quarter. The Troy, MI-based automotive parts manufacturer reported an adjusted earnings per share of $1.24. The adjusted EPS does not include special items. This was an increase from last year's Q2 adjusted EPS figure of $1.03. Analysts were expecting adjusted EPS of $1.14. The company's adjusted earnings came in at $388 million compared to last year's Q2 figure of $336 million. Delphi's revenue for the quarter came in slightly below analysts' estimates at $4.2 billion when analysts were expecting $4.22 billion. Looking forward, Delphi gives its Q3 EPS guidance between 86 cents and 94 cents. For the full-year 2013 guidance, the company raised its guidance from a range of $4.15 to $4.41 to a new EPS range of $4.22 to $4.45. The company sees revenue for Q3 coming in between $3.95 billion and $4.05 billion, and full year revenue coming in at $16.3 billion to $16.5 billion. Shares of Delphi Automotive were down 79 cents, or 1.45%, in Wednesday morning trading. The company's stock is up more than 41% YTD.
