Ensco International- (ESV)-provides offshore contract drilling services to the oil and gas industry. As of February 15, 2008, the company owned and operated 44 jackup rigs, 1 ultra-deepwater semisubmersible rig, and 1 barge rig. It also had four ultra-deepwater semisubmersible rigs under construction. The company offers drilling services to international, government-owned, and independent oil and gas companies. It has operations in Asia, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Europe/Africa, and North and South America. The company was founded in 1975 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
