Alliance Holdings Group, L.P.- (AHGP)-produces and markets coal primarily to utilities and industrial users in the United States. As of December 31, 2007, the company operated 8 coal mining complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, and West Virginia, as well as leased and operated a coal loading terminal on the Ohio River at Mt. Vernon, Indiana with approximately 8.0 million tons capacity and with ground storage of approximately 60,000 to 70,000 tons. It had approximately 712.8 million tons of coal reserves in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Alliance GP, LLC operates as the general partner of Alliance Holdings GP, L.P. The company is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
