Company Profile

Barrick Gold- (ABX)-engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of gold properties. It primarily explores for gold, copper, silver, and zinc. As of December 31, 2007, the company had proven and probable mineral reserves of 124.6 million ounces of gold, 6.2 billion pounds of copper, and 1,033 million ounces of contained silver within gold reserves. Its other mineral projects include minerals, such as nickel, platinum, and palladium. Barrick Gold Corporation was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
