Exxon Mobil Q1 Profit Falls 58%, Missing Estimates (XOM)

Oil juggernaut Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) said Thursday that its first quarter profit slipped substantially from the same period last year, as it struggled to offset lower oil prices and demand.

At the same time however Exxon raised its quarter;y dividend by 5% to $0.42/share. Despite the expected fall in 2009 earnings per share, 2010 earnings per share should increase nicely.
