Apartment Investment & Management (AIV) came out with some interesting news today as the company expects third-quarter funds from operations to meet or beat guidance based on preliminary results, and said it plans a special quarterly dividend.

    I bought an apartment building 2 years ago and when through a similar analysis prior to purchasing the building. Now that I have one under my belt, i’m going to be much more cognizant of the real estate taxes and management costs for running the thing, it’s a great investment if you can do it, but it can be easy to underestimate the costs if you’ve never been there.
