Market Wrap-Up for Nov.10 (TYC, CF, SPG, X, KO, DEO, more)

After yesterday’s 200 point gains on the Dow, it was no surprise to see the markets consolidate today The volume on the rallies still remains on the low side and this is something we are keeping a close eye on.
Speaking of volume, we finished slightly lower than yesterday’s total with 4.39 Billion shares share traded on the NYSE and 1.95 Billion shares traded over on the NASDAQ. As for Dividend stocks in the news today, earnings results took down shares of Fluor Corp (FLR



) and Tyco International (TYC



). Other dividend plays that lagged today included Murphy Oil (MUR



), Simon Property Group (SPG



), U.S. Steel (X



) and CF Industries (CF



).
On the upside today, we are seeing bullish analyst calls boosting shares of Rockwell Automation (ROK



) and Royal Bank of Canada (RY



) which was helped by an upgrade from UBS. Other dividend-paying stocks finishing in the green included Mead Johnson (MJN



), Coca-Cola (KO



), Diageo (DEO



) and Lorillard (LO



). Notice the positive trend in consumer staples names!
