J.C. Penney Boosts Forecast after Sept. Same-Store Sales Fall Less than Expected (JCP)

Department store operator J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (JCP) said Thursday that its September same-store sales fell 1.4%, a much smaller drop than analysts expected, prompting the company to raise its third quarter forecast.
